Quick u/s update

I cried through the whole thing. Even before she told me anything. Embarrassing. But I was sooo nervous and it took a really long time. And once I started, I couldn't stop.

Basically, date-wise, I measure 6w1d. She found the sac and yolk sac, which each measured 6w1d. She did not find a heart beat.

Now, I knew that was a possibility because it is early. But I was still upset.

However... I have a tipped uterus. And a small fibroid. Both of which I knew. But the PA told me that the U/S tech said that because of that, combined with how early it is, it was a difficult scan. She had trouble finding my uterus, and then finding the sac. She thinks she may have seen the "crown rump" (?) (I don't even know what that means) but wasn't 100% sure.

So anyway. Things aren't bad. But not ideal- I wish we had seen a h/b. She offered to have me get an hcg level, but I asked if something was wrong would it show up on the bloodwork? She said probably not, so I didn't do it. She also said I could come back in like four or five days for another u/s but it might still be too early, especially with my uterine challenges, and she didn't want me to have to go through the same thing again if I didn't have to.

So I am supposed to go back for a 7w ultrasound. I called the woman who does my dr's appointments yesterday and left a message, but didn't hear back. I'm guessing this is because of the holiday- maybe she was out on Fri. So hopefully on Tues they will be able to schedule me for Thurs or Fri.

In other news... KB is also pregnant.

Won't be able to update for the rest of the weekend, but I'll be back Tues. Thanks to all who have been checking in!!! {{hugs}}

Oh, I am so glad you updated us!!! My IRL girlfriend had an u/s at 6w and they did not see any heartbeats at all - she has two healthy babies at 10w5 days right now. It is fabulous news that they saw what they did - you can pretty much rule out a blighted ovum - and I am sure you will see a fabulous heartbeat in a few days.

That being said, I know how scary it can be and I will never poo poo anyone else's fears - it is hard to deal with what seems like uncertainty. ((HUGS))

Big hugs!! I know you know it is early! I would guess that the chances of seeing anything given your tipped uterus are really low at the early date. I know this next week will be really hard, I am sending you a huge hug and I will be praying for you.

Early, early, early...I really don't know why some clinics do a u/s so early - it just causes us so much anxiety. I know you will be a wreck until you see a hb, sending you hugs to get through the next few days. GOOD LUCK!!!

I almost texted you because I was thinking about you all day! Glad that everything seems to be measuring right on time. That's the first big hurdle. I know it's disappointing that you didn't see a hb, but it's so early. Hopefully the next week will pass quickly and everything will be great.
Crown rump is the measurement from the forehead to the rump of the baby, I think. They refer to that throughout pregnancy when they're checking the baby's size so maybe she thought she saw the little bugger? Very exciting!

Hope III's dad is continuing to improve. Thinking of you.

YAY...I know you wanted to see a heart beat and you will! I have read in many blogs with your exact situation and then they would go back in and hear the beautiful heart beat! I have faith you will hear it! Your little peanut is growing, yay, for 6 weeks!

Hugs!!! I know it will all turn out okay. It is pretty early to hear the heartbeat, so give it some time. As hard as it is to feel that uncertainty - try to stay positive. I know, easier said than done. :)

The only thing I know about crown to rump is that its the measurement they take to find out how old the baby is. Yeah for 6 weeks!!

Glad for the update. I am sorry it was so stressful - as others have said it IS early so hang in there. I will keep my fingers crossed and my prayers going for you that things show more at week 7!
