I never - nevernevernever - get dark lines - not even with betas in the seven-hundreds. If you're nicely hydrated, they'll NEVER get dark.
A line is a line is a line. I say, go with the optimism. It's more fun than waiting for another shoe to fall, and it can't hurt.
